Skin Type #5

Normal / Sensitive / Red / Anti-Aging

Red, sensitive, dehydrated skin showing the signs of aging requires a careful blend of smoothing exfoliants and calming bioactive ingredients to soothe and strengthen the skin from inside out. High concentrations of Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (the no-sting form of Vitamin C), White Tea and Red Marine Algae provide incredible anti-aging nourishment to reveal smooth, calm and comfortable skin with less visible redness. The result? Beautiful skin by Renée Rouleau.

Renee's Take on Skin Type 5

  • Learn More about the Symptoms of Skin Type 5

    • Consistent Redness or Rosacea

Do you flush easily? Does your skin feel warm to the touch for an extended time after a shower (1-2 hrs)? Do people ask you if you have a sunburn when you don’t?

Have you been diagnosed with Rosacea or do you simply find yourself wondering why your skin is so red?

As you get older, are you finding that your skin is getting more red and that you are noticing more capillaries?

If any of the above are true, you might be a Skin Type 5.

Produces Oil in Summer and Feels Tight or Dry in Winter

If you are oily in the summer, mainly in the T-zone, but can feel tight or dry during winter, this skin type may define you. This is usually considered combination skin, and you feel that yours changes with the seasons.

      Needs Hydration Without Heavy Oils

You might be somebody who wants to be a little careful and keep products on the lighter side due to a history of breakouts in the past. This is not always the case, but sometimes Skin Type 5s don’t want products that are too heavy for their skin.

      May Have Enlarged Pores

You also might have enlarged pores, mostly in the T-zone, including blackheads. Typically you’re someone who had more oil when you were younger since those are the formative years for your pores, but you might find enlarged pores and blackheads in your T-zone.

      Skin Can Get Irritated Easily

You consider your skin sensitive and may have used products in the past that have caused rashes or irritation, so you really pay attention to and avoid certain ingredients.

Concerned About Aging, Redness, Skin Health

This is someone who wants to focus on keeping their skin healthy, preventative aging, and just trying to have less visible redness. You’re always choosing products for sensitive skin and trying to diffuse redness out of the skin. These are the characteristics of a Skin Type 5.

      25 to 50 Years Old

The typical age range for Skin Type 5 is 25 to 50 years old. You’re not super dry (maybe a little in winter), but you’re typically (not always) in the late 20s to 50s.
