FAQs
Can this product be used for all skin types and skin tones?
Yes, this toner targets fading both red, purple and brown unwanted pigmentation for all skin types and all skin tones, including sensitive skin types.
Is this toner safe to use during the summer?
Absolutely. This toner is not only safe to use during the summer, but it’s also much needed. Heat can increase melanin production, leading to brown spots—even when you're wearing sunscreen. Since other pigment-reducing ingredients like retinol and exfoliating acids are often reduced in summer due to increased sun exposure, this toner is a great addition to help prevent heat-induced hyperpigmentation.
If I'm using it twice a day as recommended, how long until I see results?
The honest answer is: it depends on the type and severity of the discoloration.
For red or purple marks left behind by breakouts, results can vary based on the severity and depth of the blemish. If the breakout was small and healed quickly, the discoloration is usually more superficial and tends to fade faster. In those cases, adding this toner can help move things along more quickly. However, if the blemish was deeper or if it was picked at, the marks may take longer to fade—but the toner can still support and speed up the surface fading process over time.
When it comes to brown spots from sun damage or melasma, those can be more stubborn. Think of them like a “stain” in the skin—especially if they’ve been there for a while. Fading these types of pigmentation requires more time, consistency, and a comprehensive approach. This toner is a powerful addition to your routine, but it works best as part of a broader pigment-reducing strategy. That includes daily use of sunscreen, a vitamin C serum, exfoliating acids, and possibly retinol or prescription retinoids. In some cases, professional treatments like lasers or peels may be needed to fully resolve more stubborn pigment.
Bottom line: There’s no single miracle product for hyperpigmentation. But this toner is a key tool in helping calm melanin activity, brighten discoloration, and reveal a more even-toned complexion over time. Read: The Four Types of Discoloration and How to Get Rid of Them Faster.
Is Tranexamic Acid irritating on the skin? Does it exfoliate the skin?
No and no. Tranexamic acid is a synthetic form of the amino acid lysine. It’s not an acid that exfoliates, but it does have proven brightening benefits by reducing excess melanin without bleaching the skin.
Is there any research showing the effectiveness of Tranexamic Acid?

Can I use this on my hands to fade discoloration?
Yes. But of course, sun protection and gloves are important to use, too.
Over time, I’ve noticed a white residue forming around the neck of the toner bottle. What causes this??
This is completely normal. When the toner dries, its active ingredients can leave behind a white powder. If any of the product gets on the outside of the bottle and dries, it may result in this visible residue. This is due to the high amount of actives in the formula—which is why it is so effective.
Can I use this product if I'm pregnant?
Yes. There are no ingredients in this product deemed unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Is this product tested on animals?
No.
What is the pH level of this product?
The pH level of HyperFix Fading Toner is 6.0-7.0
