My Skin Prescription is a six-step customized skin analysis that was developed out of the Renée Rouleau Institut de Beauté designed to provide the tools, know-how and knowledge needed to make the right choices exclusively based on one's unique skin needs. Renée Rouleau believes that one's daily life, from managing stress, to diet and nutrition and a complete and customized skin care regimen is ultimately the true path to healthy, radiant and youthful looking skin for a lifetime.

What is the Institut de Beauté?

The Institute de Beauté is a dedicated environment at Renée Rouleau Skin Care Spa in Plano, TX where the main priority is training and continuing skin care education. All Renée Rouleau estheticians go through an Institute de Beauté training course and receive certification to be able to offer My Skin Prescription to clients.

Why was My Skin Prescription created?

People are seeking an in-depth customized approach for their skin with a trusted professional who will take the time needed to instruct them how to get results with their skin. Renée Rouleau saw this need and created My Skin Prescription.

How is it different than other skin consultations offered by other skin care providers?

Most skin consultations are just focused on selling products or recommending treatments without really addressing the individuals needs, and taking the time to find out what those are. My Skin Prescription is a holistic, intrinsic and extrinsic skin analysis designed as a total experience for your skin. For Renée and her team, education comes first, selling comes second.

What are the six steps?

STEP 1:What are your top skin concerns?

Through a series of comprehensive questions, responses given provide insight into individual skin types, needs and deficiencies.

STEP 2:What do we see in your skin?

See 3D photos of your skin taken using our exclusive Skin Diagnosis Camera to measure past sun exposure, pore size, sebum quantity, moisture content, cellular buildup to get an overall health and condition of your skin. (This step is not available via SkypeTM or FaceTimeTM.)

STEP 3:How do you feed your skin?

Your esthetician will review nutritional recommendations prepared exclusively for your skin type provided from Registered Dietitian. Keri Gans.

STEP 4:What's in your cabinet?

Bring your personal skin care products to your appointment (or video consultation) to be analyzed with unbiased advice and tips on what (and how) to use them. Any products that you choose to no longer use, Renée Rouleau will gladly donate them to The Family Place, a woman's shelter. For those outside of Dallas, we encourage you to contact a local shelter in your area to see if they will accept your unused or gently-used cosmetics for women in need.

STEP 5:What's your sunscreen IQ?

A tutorial is provided on the proper way to apply sunscreen as well as tips and FAQ's.

STEP 6:What's your skin prescription?

A customized treatment plan with product recommendations bases on your skin issues, concerns and goals.

How is diet and nutrition being addressed in My Skin Prescription?

We have enlisted the expertise of Registered Dietitian, Keri Gans, to assist with skin-type nutrition tips and suggestions. A recognized authority in her field, Keri is the author of The Small Change Diet and conducts individual nutrition counseling consulting in New York City.

How can I schedule My Skin Prescription?

What languages are available for My Skin Prescription?

My Skin Prescription is offered by a licensed Esthetician in both in English and Spanish. (With Renée Rouleau herself, it is available in English only.)

Should I not have makeup on my skin for my appointment?

If you are having My Skin Prescription at our skin care spas, it's fine to come with makeup on since we will be washing your skin prior to taking a photo with our Diagnosis Camera. If you are having a video consultation, it's best not to wear makeup so we can get a better view of your skin.

How many of my own personal skin products should I bring to the appointment for you to analyze?

For the 'What's in your cabinet?' portion of your appointment, we will be going over what you are currently using at home on your skin. To ensure we stay on time, we ask that you bring no more than 20 products to your appointment (either in person or video) for us to review. If you are having your appointment over the phone, we will cover this step but we will be unable to visibly see your products.

What can I expect at the conclusion of My Skin Prescription?

At the end of your personal consultation, you will be given a private access code to download PDF documents with detailed information about your skin type, nutritional advice and more. If your My Skin Prescription appointment is in our Dallas or Plano, TX skin care spas, you will be given a folder to take home which contains your personalized skin and nutrition information.

What are the requirements to be able to have a video consultation?

Valid email address that you check often. This will be used for your appointment confirmations and all communications.
Computer, tablet or cell phone with web cam access (so we can see you!)
For Skype™, you will need to have an account with a user name, as well as basic knowledge of how to use its video calling feature.
A reliable internet connection
For FaceTime®, you must have have a newer generation Apple device (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac) with FaceTime® capabilities and your Apple ID email address.
A well lit room during the time of your video consultation
For best results, you may not want to wear make up. (Optional)

Will you really be able to see my skin over a web cam?

Using a web cam in a well lit room will allow us to see some details of your skin, however it will mainly be the discussion that drives our diagnosis.
