It's a fact - the hard-working eyes blink 10,000 times a day. And facial expressions take their toll on this tender skin that is 10 times thinner than that on the rest of the face.
The Solution
We'll teach you a four-step routine that can be done at home with professional results. Renée Rouleau's latest innovation is the Eye Recovery Treatment Kit that tackles three problems: fine lines, puffiness, and lack of tone around the eye area.
Facts
The eye contour area is a very sensitive area.
The skin of the eye contour is constantly moving - more than 10,000 blinks a day.
The skin around the eyes is 10 times thinner than that on the rest of the face.
Repeated facial movements and expressions (smile, pain, and stress) affect the eye area.
Under-eye puffiness is mostly genetic, but can be exacerbated by salty foods, allergies, and internal dehydration.
Sagging of the skin (loss of elasticity) under the eyes is also genetic, but can be exacerbated by rubbing and tugging of the delicate skin from allergies, crying, and eye makeup removal. (The skin's elasticity is similar to that of a rubber band; constant tugging and pulling eventually causes loss of elasticity.)
The tissue around the eyes has very few oil glands, causing the skin to lack natural moisture.
Skin Tips
To diminish puffiness, sleep with your head elevated to decrease excess fluids around the eyes.
Avoid rich, greasy eye creams that can seep into the eyes, causing unnecessary puffiness.
For eye makeup removal, saturate a cotton pad with an oil-free eye makeup remover. Hold the pad to the eyes for 30 seconds, allowing makeup to loosen and dissolve. This eliminates unnecessary tugging and pulling. Then gently wipe away makeup.
Avoid high-salt foods before bedtime.
Drink 12-16 glasses of water daily.
Wear prescription glasses and sunglasses to avoid squinting.
Always use an eye cream to keep skin lubricated.
